Step into the extraordinary life of one of Britain’s greatest musical icons on this fully guided Elton John Walking Tour through central London. From gifted child prodigy to global superstar, this tour traces the pivotal locations that shaped his sound, ambition and legacy.
We begin outside Baker Street Station beside the statue of Sherlock Holmes before walking to the Royal Academy of Music. It was here that a young Reginald Dwight won a scholarship at just eleven years old, studying classical composition while secretly dreaming of rock and roll. You will hear how those early years of discipline and rebellion influenced every album he later made.
After travelling to Oxford Circus, the tour continues through Soho, the beating heart of the British music industry in the 1960s and 70s. You will hear about the dramatic evening that inspired Someone Saved My Life Tonight. Nearby on Wardour Street you will stand outside the original offices of Rocket Records, the label Elton founded during his meteoric rise to fame
We visit the site of the legendary studio where Elton recorded breakthrough albums including Elton John, Tumbleweed Connection and Madman Across The Water
You will hear how a handmade Bechstein piano became part of music history and how four intense days in the studio helped launch a career that would span decades.
You will see the former home of Dick James Music where Elton first met Bernie Taupin, the beginning of one of the greatest songwriting partnerships of all time.
Denmark Street reveals his early working life in the music trade before fame arrived.
The tour concludes at the home of The Lion King musical, a reminder that Elton’s creative reach extends far beyond pop stardom
Across two compelling hours, this walking tour reveals the risks, rivalries, reinventions and remarkable resilience behind the legend.
